Green spaces around the Southbrook Estate in Daventry were given some TLC this year to help improve the environment around the estate. Hundreds of shrubs as well as thousands of wildflower seeds were planted across 16 different areas on the estate to give nature a helping hand and improve the appearance of the neighbourhood.

Futures has been working with the local community and other agencies involved in running and managing the estate for several years now to help improve the area. Customers were consulted on what they felt could be better in 2020 and among the many issues raised, making the estate look better and encouraging the use of public spaces were ranked as a high priority.

This latest planting project comes towards the end of an ongoing programme of work designed to respond to residents’ concerns and create a pleasanter environment for all who live there. Other projects tackled in response to customer feedback have included renovating the community centre and estate-wide tidy-ups.
