As a responsible landlord, we have a role to play in supporting happy and healthy communities. Across our region this means we offer a wide range of services and facilities, and invest in new community projects, to give neighbourhoods and the people who live in them an extra helping hand.
This year our efforts in Amber Valley were recognised with a very special award from local charity Salcare. Despite fierce competition from a range of other local and national organisations, we were proud winners of their ‘Partnership & community award’ at a gala dinner held in December.
Salcare has been helping the Amber Valley community since 1977. Futures often refers customers to the charity for help through its food bank, for low-cost furnishings, for help with domestic violence and family support and to use its community café.
In turn we supported Salcare to refurbish and reopen the café, redecorated their premises and shared with them part of a £7,000 charity donation we received from one of our gas suppliers.
