Lots of organisations have learned that they achieve more when everyone is pulling together and in the same direction. One of the ways they do this is about being clear about what they are trying to achieve – something we do through our corporate plan. Spelling out what matters to an organisation and how it goes about its business is also a valuable tool to help people focus on achieving more. At Futures this means that we have a clear set of values that we expect our team members to share and to put in practice in their everyday work.

We launched some new values this year which we remember with the word FACTS. It stands for:

  • Flexible
  • Accountable
  • Customer-centric
  • Trusting
  • Supportive.

FACTS also puts being customer centric slap in the middle of our values which is exactly where it deserves to be.

These values aren’t totally new – they evolved form our previous MORE values. Many of the themes are similar but our colleagues told us that we’d moved on and they needed to change to reflect our growing customer focus and our award-winning culture.

The FACTS values are woven right through all of our work. When we interview people for jobs at Futures we ask questions to help us ensure that candidates are a good fit for us and how we work. When managers check in with their team members, they review how people act in line with the values too. And day-to-day, when doing our jobs or planning new projects, we’re encouraged to remember our values and make sure our plans are well aligned with them.

Together with our brand new corporate plan, CP24+, our new values are helping give us renewed focus and energy for now and the years to come to help do an even better job for our customers and the region.
