Sadly crime and antisocial behaviour has a negative impact on too many of our communities. It can leave people afraid and feeling insecure in their homes and in the worst cases have devastating consequences.
We’re not the police or crimefighters, but as a landlord to thousands of people we still contribute to helping reduce crime and disorder.
This can include evicting offenders who live in our homes, rehousing victims, and helping improve neighbourhoods to try to ‘design out’ crime with features such as improved lighting.
In and around Daventry we’re proud to be members of the West Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership. Other members include:
- Northamptonshire Police
- Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service
- Integrated Care Board
- National Probation Service
- Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner
- Other housing providers
- Youth Offending Service
- Northamptonshire Children’s Trust
- And a wide range of other community, voluntary and faith organisations
The partnership has put together some facts and figures for March 2024-25 to show the positive impact that members are having by working together. Some of the highlights include:
- £4.6m for community and voluntary projects for mental health schemes, money and debt advice and food banks.
- 12.5% reduction in burglary.
- 12 closure orders on nuisance premises.
- 15 community protection notices issued.
- 1,500 partnership intelligence forms submitted.
It really does show the power of joining forces and how we're playing our part to create safer communities.
