Helping communities have good chemistry

Ensuring customers feel safe, happy and secure in their homes.

Evicting someone from their home is always a last resort. However, we won’t tolerate antisocial behaviour (ASB) and will always do everything we can to protect our customers and communities.

Customers living in Heage, Derbyshire, said they felt like a big weight had been lifted off their shoulders, as we worked with Derbyshire Police last year to successfully secure an injunction order on a neighbour.

The man had engaged in a prolonged and sustained harassment campaign against his neighbours, including face-to-face and online threats.

Our Communities team made numerous visits to the area to support victims of the ongoing harassment. They worked with Derbyshire Police to investigate all reported incidents and collected evidence to support our own investigation. The injunction meant that the man couldn’t contact his victims or return to the home or street for 12 months.

We also secured a three-month closure order on a property in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire that had been the source of ongoing ASB and drug use, making local residents’ lives a misery. We worked with our partners, West Northamptonshire Council and Daventry Police, to successfully secure a closure order on the property from Northampton Magistrates Court.

While cases as extreme as these are fortunately rare, it shows that we are here to support our customers and communities, and we’ll work closely with partners to ensure a joined-up response to criminal activity.

We all have different responsibilities and powers, so by working together we're better placed to tackle and resolve antisocial behaviour.
