Most of our new build homes now come with solar panels as standard and many of our customer's least energy efficient homes have had, and will continue to have, solar panels installed as part of our ongoing retrofitting works.
But as well as making our customers’ homes more energy efficient, we also have a responsibility to run our business in ways that better support the environment.
This year we installed solar panels at one of our offices in Heanor, Derbyshire. Like all offices with lots of computers, electricity usage can be high, so installing solar panels can reduce energy costs and help save money that we can then invest in our customers’ homes.
We expect almost 20% of energy usage at the Heanor office to now be clean, green electricity generated from the panels. This will not only save money but reduce carbon emissions too - in fact the amount of CO2 it may reduce each year is equal to a car ride of almost 8,000 miles!
