Brewing an inclusive culture

Developing our culture through more equity, diversity and inclusion.

In an ever changing world, it’s important we regularly take stock to ensure that we’re doing all we can to make colleagues feel safe, included and valued.

We’ve been working with Compelling Culture, an organisation that runs an inclusion diagnostic to see how we can become an even more diverse and inclusive workforce.

In the three years we’ve been working together we’ve seen an almost 43% improvement to the total ‘score’ they give us. Some of the highlights from their most recent assessment with us were:

  • Offering colleagues neurodiversity training and the option to have a mentor or buddy.
  • Our corporate plan being developed through listening exercise with colleagues.
  • Accessibility audits completed across all our offices.
  • Holding listening sessions with our Repairs team colleagues in response to feedback – this team makes up almost half our workforce!

Using the diagnostic has really helped us to be clear on where we need to focus our attention and resources to make the biggest difference. Each time the results have helped us to celebrate the work we've done to create an inclusive organisation, as well as challenge us to think about how we can do better.

While we recognise we’ve still got more to do we’re now confident we’re on the right path.
